The Mk II upgrade to our globally acclaimed Hana S series cartridges elevates both their musical performance and value. Master cartridge designer Maseo Okada introduces a newly tapered aluminum cantilever with enhanced rigidity, significantly improving the transfer of groove modulation from the vinyl record to the cartridge generator. The S Series Mk II cartridges feature higher-grade components, advanced materials, and specialized techniques borrowed from Hanaās elite cartridge models, further enriching the Hana ābrilliant and gorgeousā sound signature.
The Hana S Series Mk II cartridges incorporate a new tapered aluminum cantilever with increased rigidity and reduced effective mass at the stylus tip, leading to greater clarity and enhanced music transfer from the vinyl record to the cartridge generator.
Key components, such as the Yoke, Pole-pieces, and gold terminal pins, have undergone cryogenic treatment to achieve a more natural sound.
The improved, non-resonant body shape, inspired by the Hana M Series, is damped with a matte Soft Feel Black elastomeric resin paint and features a brass cap with threaded cartridge mounting fittings. The Mk II cartridges, being heavier, offer better coupling and expanded compatibility with a wider range of tonearms, enhancing bass response and dynamics.
The SL MK II generator, used in the Umami Blue and ML models, incorporates an Alnico magnet and cross-coil with high-purity 30-micron copper wire and an 8Ī© impedance. This design improves signal-to-noise ratio, reduces moving mass for higher resolution and trackability, and optimizes performance across a broader range of phono stages.
